Arturo White Cordova, 81, of Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on August 27, 1944, in Alpine, Texas, to Salvador and Josephina Cordova.

Arturo graduated from Ector High School in 1963. His life changed forever when he met the love of his life, Beatriz Sotelo. After four years of courtship, the couple was united in marriage in June 1967, beginning a beautiful journey together that would span more than five decades. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with two children, Debbie Ann Cordova and Arturo Edward Cordova, who became the center of their world.

Determined to provide for his family, Arturo attended Odessa Business College, where he studied accounting. In 1972, he began his career with the Ector County Independent School District. Over the next 35 years, he faithfully served the district before retiring. Throughout the years, he became affectionately known by many as the "Blinds Man," a nickname that reflected both his dedication and the friendships he made during his long career.

Arturo believed that life's greatest moments were often the simplest. He found peace while fishing and camping, enjoying the quiet beauty of the outdoors and the chance to escape the busyness of everyday life. At home, he could often be found playing dominoes, working crossword puzzles, dancing and singing along to his favorite Tejano music, or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He never missed the opportunity to watch professional wrestling or settle in with one of his beloved Western movies.

There was, however, one possession that held a very special place in his heart—his faithful 1971 Chevrolet pickup truck, affectionately known as "Old Blue." Anyone who knew Arturo knew the pride he took in that truck. It wasn't just a vehicle; it was a cherished companion that traveled alongside him through countless memories and adventures.

Above all else, Arturo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His family was his greatest blessing, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering work ethic, quiet strength, infectious love of music, and the joy he found in life's everyday pleasures.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Beatriz Cordova; his daughter, Debbie (Larry) Torres; his sister, Enedina Hinojos; his grandchildren, Daniel "Charanga" Torres, Miguel "Pudgey" Torres, Angelica "Weezy" (Billy) Viasana, and Hailey Sandoval Cordova; and his great-grandchildren, Edward, Liam, Lovella, Eneko Cordova, and Goldie Bea Viasana, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Arturo was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents, Salvador and Josephina Cordova; his beloved son, Arturo Edward Cordova; his brother, Salvador "Sonny" Cordova Jr.; his sister, Ernestina "Maya" Lara; and his nephews, Salvador "Tatin" Hinojos and Humberto "Boy" Lara.

Though his family grieves his passing, they find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind. Arturo's laughter, his love for music and dancing, his stories around the domino table, his adventures outdoors, and the unmistakable sight of "Old Blue" will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, devotion, and hard work will continue to live on through his family for generations to come.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 1-9 PM and a rosary at 7 PM at Martinez West Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 24, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
