Clarissa Nicole Muñiz Perez, 34, of Odessa, Texas, passed away in September 2026 in Española, New Mexico.

Clarissa was born on July 24, 1992, in Odessa, Texas, to Tomas Muñiz and Norma Cook. She was raised in Odessa and attended Odessa High School. She married Jermey Geronimo Perez in Odessa, Texas, and together they shared three children, Eli, Emile, and Elena Perez.

Clarissa’s life was centered around the people she loved. She was a daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend whose life touched a large family that will carry her memory with them.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Manuel Muñiz Sr.; maternal grandmother, Adela Cook; and maternal grandfather, George Cook.

Clarissa is survived by her husband, Jermey Perez; her children, Eli, Emile, and Elena Perez; her parents, Tomas and Sonya Muñiz; her sister, Marlaina Muñiz, and spouse, Jane Muñiz; her nephews, Nathanuel and Jayden Muñiz; her great-nephew, Oscar Muñiz; her brother Edward Vasquez and wife, Cindy, and their children, Carissa, Carina, and Aaron; her brother Jerry Vasquez and wife, Tyler, and his children, Alyssa, Forrest, Demitri, and Asher; her brother Richard Vasquez and wife, Letty; her biological mother, Norma Moore, and husband, Nathan Moore; and her half-sister, Tristian Cook.

She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who loved her deeply.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Jeannette Muñiz for the tremendous amount of work, persistence, and research she devoted to locating Clarissa and helping bring answers to her family during an extraordinarily difficult time. Her efforts and dedication will always be remembered with gratitude.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 10AM to 9PM at Martinez West Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
