Francisco Marufo Aguilar, born in Presidio, Texas, to Jesús and Petra Aguilar, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, surrounded by friends and family who loved him dearly.

Francisco was a deeply family-oriented man, regarded as a father and grandfather to many beyond his own. He had a remarkable ability to touch lives in meaningful ways, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His greatest pride was his daughters, whom he taught to always stand strong, never backing down from life’s challenges, and to carry forward the powerful work ethic he lived by every day. Known for his humility and generosity, Francisco was always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether to a friend or a stranger, he never hesitated to offer help, kindness, or encouragement. He was a true jokester at heart, always finding happiness in life and sharing it freely with others. Francisco had a special gift for bringing smiles, laughter, and light into any room, often lifting spirits with his humor and positive outlook. His joy for life was contagious, and those around him were better simply for being in his presence. Francisco had a lifelong love for horses and was well known within the horse community. He found joy in sharing this passion with his family, taking them to horse races, riding together, and caring for the animals he loved so much.

He is survived by his life partner of 50 years, Martha Teresa Aguilar; his daughters, Marisol O’Brien, Cynthia Chavez, Griselda Aguilar, and Lizeth Aguilar; his grandchildren, Joshua O’Brien, Joseph O’Brien, Vianey Bermea, Nathan Aguilar, Alijah Quintanilla, Omega Quintanilla, Crystal Juarez Beltran, Krymar Arenivas, Kimberly Juarez, Gael Salas, and Luis Mucharraz; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Francisco’s legacy of love, strength, humility, and devotion to family will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
