Gary Clayton Collinsworth, 77 of Odessa, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Odessa, TX
Visitation will be Thursday, March 05 ,2026 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00AM at Martinez Funeral Home, located at 10137 W University Blvd, with Taylor Robles of Sherwood Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Cox Cemetery in Brownwood, TX on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m, Dr. Pepper Dill will be officiating
Gary was born in El Paso, TX to Max Clayton and Marion Grace Collinsworth on July 30, 1948. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso where he was a part of the University of Texas Collegiate Chorale. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 27 years, where he met his wife of 40 years. He married Regena Gail Deeds on March 15,1986 in Odessa, TX. After retiring from the post office, he worked for 10 years at Slough Equipment in Odessa. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served as a gunner’s mate in the Navy where he was also a part of the Blue Jacket Choir. He was involved in the NRA, VFW, gun shows and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Max Clayton Collinsworth and Marion Grace (Greggerson) Collinsworth.
Gary is survived by his wife, Regena (Deeds) Collinsworth of Odessa; his children, Neil (Amy)Collinsworth of Lago Vista; and his daughter, Carla (Tony) Phelps of Fredericksburg, Shayne (Lindy) Jennings of Santa Anna, Tisha (Terry) Farr of Odessa;11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, he is also survived by his sister, Carolyn (JM)Bossley, and his sister Stella (George) Scanlon.
The family of Gary wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Interim hospice care and the VA Caregivers program and all the family and friends who so lovingly supported us through this.
Pallbearers will be Jake Pettit, Michael Garcia, Shayne Jennings II, Gage Jennings, Seth Collinsworth and Brody Harless.
