Lucelia “Lucy” Ramirez, age 84, left this world and entered her heavenly rest on February 6, 2026, at her home in Odessa, Texas. Surrounded by her family, memories and laughter.
She was born on June 16, 1941 to her parents, Ernestina and Dimas Hernandez, in Thyina, Texas. She went on to marry Febronio Ramirez on December 18, 1957 in Levelland, Texas. Soon after, they were blessed with six beautiful children: Manuel, Felipa, Febronio Jr., Celia, Rose Mary, and Jesus.
Lucy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin to many. Her love of Christ and passion for sharing the Gospel are reflected in the many family members who love her and will deeply miss her.
She loved spending time with her family—cooking big dinners and teaching the young girls how to make tamales. She also enjoyed a good game of 31 and cherished her spontaneous trips to Iowa to visit family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernestina and Dimas Hernandez; her daughters, Juanita Ramirez and Sally Diaz; grandsons, Jeremy Ramirez and Daniel Rios Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Ramirez.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Febronio Ramirez; her children, Manuel (Maria) of Odessa Texas, Felipa Ramirez of Odessa Texas, Febronio Jr. (Janel) of San Antonio Texas, Rose Mary Rios of Odessa Texas, and Jesus Ramirez (Teresa) of Odessa Texas; and siblings, Margie Reyes, Rosa Villarreal, Ramiro Hernandez and Juan Hernandez all of Iowa.
She is also survived by a total of 147 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will forever miss their beloved grandma.
